Power to the "Oppressed" People
is a phrase I coined to express my passion in needing to uplift and empower my people, the people, while also acknowledging the systemic systems set in place to oppress us as a people.
My body of work, service and research is ensued with gaining the knowledge and resources need to be of service to my community. I hope to take what I gain in scholastics to not only bring back to my people, but to create a shift in how information and knowledge is delineated.
We will one day all be free from oppression and until then we will continue to do our part in uplifting the community through educating each other, equipping the community with strategy, and the sharing of resources. I hope I serve as a resource for my people.
"If you stand on the shoulders of others, you have a reciprocal responsibility to live your life so that others may stand on your shoulders...We exist temporarily through what we take, but we live forever through what we give" ~ Vernon Jordan
